This stuff is amazing! Use it for scratches, cuts, wounds, eczema, inflammation, diaper rash, skin irritation, bee stings, lip balm, minor burns, bug bites, or just a luxurious moisturizer. Though it takes a ton of patience it is worth it!
so to start here is the list of ingredients:
1 cup Lavender flower buds
1 cup Dried Calendula petals
1/4 cup Beeswax pellets
2 cups organic coconut oil
1 cup raw Shea butter
20 drops tea tree essential oil
15 drops lavender essential oil
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
this batch makes approx 10 250 ml containers. adjust to amount you want to produce. trust me everyone you know will want some!
Step one: pour the olive oil, calendula petals, lavender buds ( I use stalks as well)
step two: let it "brew" for a few weeks, or more.
It is possible to put in crock pot on low heat for about 3 hours instead of leaving it for weeks, but I have found the steeping for weeks increases it's effectiveness.
Step three: lay cheesecloth over the top of a glass container and slowly pour mixture in. Go slow or you will lose your precious oil over the sides.
Step four: add the beeswax, Shea butter, Stirring constantly over low heat until the beeswax petals have melted entirely.
Step five: remove the mixture from heat, and add Lavender & Tea Tree essential oils stir until blended well (don't take too long as the beeswax will start to solidify
Step six: pour mixture into containers while continuously stirring to ensure all the goodness gets to each container.
Step 7: once it has cooled to the consistency as shown in the picture put the lids on and viola you too have your own healing salve!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
